Quandarius Rymel Wilburn
Wadley, GA – Quandarius “Quin” Rymel Wilburn, 18, loving son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend, unexpectedly died Sunday, August 8, 2021 doing what he loved—playing football—in Richmond, VA. Services to celebrate his life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 14, 2021 in the Jefferson County High School Gymnasium officiated by Rev. James Nelson. Interment will follow in the Stone Springfield Church Cemetery.
Because of the family’s respect and concern for public health and safety during this COVID-19 pandemic, the family requests that social distancing and other safety precautions be followed. The wearing of face masks is required.
Lovingly known as Quin, Quandarius was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County and a 2021 graduate of Jefferson County High School where he excelled academically and was active in all sports, but he loved playing football most of all. Having a desire to learn and grow, he chose to attend Virginia Union University on an academic and football scholarship and was excited to begin earning a degree in cyber security. He was always industrious and worked for his uncle Wallace, Nelson’s Vault Services, on weekends, after school and summers. Quin was a very honest, respectful, well-manned child of God. For a person of his age, he did things out of the ordinary for his mom, sisters, family members and friends. Quin loved life and lived it abundantly. He especially loved being on Nelson Road. His personality has been described as being “out-of-this-world”, “goofy”, and “shy”. He always wore a smile on his face, which sometimes concealed the fact that he could be a little “sneaky” jokester too. Quin met people easily and was a trustworthy friend—once a friend, always a friend. Even though he was “smart”, he was also intelligent enough to seek advice from those with “life experience” before making life decisions. Moreover, he was wise enough to seek God and search for His divine plan. His favorite verse was Jeremiah 29:11—“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” Believing that with God all dreams are possible, Quin would want everyone to come to know his Jesus, to serve Him and honor Him as he had chosen to do. He is now in Heaven experiencing Glory, joy and peace. We are so thankful for the precious time we had with Quin—he taught us much about the true, selfless love of Jesus. The void left by his passing cannot be filled, but his memories will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Quin is survived by his mother, Kenyada Yaki Wilburn, her daughters, Aliyha and Ivoray; his father, Jermaine Brown and his children, Jervonta, Jerbeiri, Shakeria, Jerstashia, Jermez, Makayla, Jada, Breydan, and Shanteria; grandparents, Sandra Nelson, Rosa Mae Brown and Ronnie Wilburn (Christine); great grandparents, Dorothy Nelson, Walter Nelson Sr. and Johnny Wilburn; Godparents, Harold and Miranda Moore; a devoted uncle, Damien C.
