Obituary

Mary "Agnes" Newsome Hall

Wrens, GA  –              Mary "Agnes" Newsome Hall, 75, loving wife of the late Benson Lyle Hall and fiancé to Tony Irby, entered into her eternal rest early Tuesday morning, February 25, 2020 at Doctors Hospital. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held in the James Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 A.M. Saturday morning, February 29, 2020 with Rev. Chad Watkins officiating.  Interment will follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery.

One of seven children born to the late Emma Alice Thigpen Newsome and the late Aaron “Bud” Newsome, Agnes was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County and attended Wrens High School.  She worked for a while at Stapleton Garment Company and did some waitressing jobs before marrying and starting her family.  She tried to make their home a loving, safe haven for her family.  Agnes did enjoy watching her soap operas every day and babysitting her grandchildren.  Having a generous spirit and good-hearted attitude, her greatest joy was her family who she loved unconditionally.

Agnes is also preceded in death by her brother, Robert “Red” Newsome. Other surviviors include her four children, Janice Wilcher (Bo), Carolyn Prickett (Sam), Michelle Hall (Kenny) and David Hall; five siblings, Charles Newsome (Nancy), Ruth Powell, Aaron Newsome Jr., Albert Newsome (Joyce) and James Newsome (Sharon); fourteen grandchildren, Amanda Valencia, Warren Wilcher Jr., Steve Wilcher, Kayla Wilcher, Brooke Wilcher, Kimberly Jimenez, Ronnie Prickett, Nicole Prickett, John King, Aaron King, Ryan Hall, Emily Hall, Landon Hall and Taylor Hall; twenty three (23) great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and friends.  Serving as pallbearers will be Aaron King, John King, Dylan Jenkins, Larry Prickett, Ronnie Prickett and Steven Wilcher.

Due to the expense of a prolonged recovery from injuries sustained in an automobile accident, the family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made directly to James Funeral Home, P.O. Box 588, Wrens GA  30833.

The family will receive friends prior to the services at James Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Friday evening, February 28, 2020.
