Avera, GA –                On the 17th day of her life on earth, Laylah Mae Smith, infant daughter of Brianna Nicole Strickland and Wyatt Hamilton Smith, died peacefully in the arms of her loving parents and went home to her Heavenly Father on May 9, 2021 from University Hospital in Augusta.  Services to celebrate her life eternal will be held in the James Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00 P.M. Thursday afternoon, May 13, 2021, with Rev. Mike Barr officiating. Interment will follow in the Waldens United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Because of the family’s respect and concern for public health and safety during this COVID-19 pandemic, the family requests that social distancing and other safety precautions be followed.  The wearing of face masks is strongly encouraged during this gathering.

Even though Laylah was with us a very short time, she touched the lives of many for which we are eternally grateful.  Thank you, our Heavenly Father, for allowing us this precious time on earth with her.

Because of their unexpected and tragic loss, the family respectfully requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made directly to James Funeral Home, PO Box 588, Wrens GA 30833.
