Kathy Ann Sanders Lambert

Wrens, GA –               Kathy Ann Sanders Lambert, 59, loving wife of 39 years to Hubert “Hugh” Franklin Lambert Jr., entered into her eternal rest early Sunday morning, February 7, 2021 at Jefferson Hospital in Louisville. Services to celebrate her life will be held in the James Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday afternoon, February 10, 2021, with Rev. John A. Jenkins officiating.  Interment will follow in the Jefferson County Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 P.M. Wednesday afternoon prior to the services.

Because of the family’s respect and concern for public health and safety during this COVID-19 pandemic, the family requests that social distancing and other safety precautions be followed.  The wearing of face masks is strongly encouraged during this gathering.

A native of Dallas TX, Kathy was the only daughter born to the late Margaret Hohnsbehn Sanders and the late James Lee Sanders.  After the family moved to Georgia in 1969, Kathy attended Hephzibah High School.  Her love story began on July 4th 1981, when she met the love of her life at the Dairy Queen in Waynesboro.  After a whirlwind romance, they married in January 1982 and started their family. Kathy graduated truck driving school from Sandersville Tech, obtaining her CDL in 1997.  She and her husband—her best friend and soul mate—drove together on long haul trips. They loved spending time together and always supported one another.  Having accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior, Kathy joined the fellowship of Reedy Creek Baptist Church.  Suffering from several health issues, she could not be as active as she would have liked and had to live a sedentary life with TV being her entertainment—she loved watching soap operas and horror/scary movies.  She has been described as being a woman who enjoyed the “simple life”, was not “high maintenance”, and was very compassionate, caring and loving.  Her main priority was her family and making sure they had a safe, comfortable home.  Being with family brought her great joy, but it was her grandkids who were her heart and soul.  The void left by her passing will never be filled, but her memories will forever remain in our hearts.

Kathy was also preceded in death by her brother, Russell Sanders. Others left to cherish her memories include her children, April Parker (Scott), Jason Lambert and Maggie Harris; six grandchildren, Cole May, Izzy Parker, McKayla Lambert, J.J. Lambert, Justin Lambert, Micheal Williams and Jordan Lamber; a brother, James Sanders Jr.; nieces, nephews, other extended family, church family and many friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Pat Broxton, Brandon Callison, Michael Paul Callison, Terry Englett, Bill Perry, Shayne Perry, Bryce Sanders and Keshaun Sanders.
