Judy grew up on the family farm near Stapleton, moving to the edge of Louisville with her family when she was 11 years old. She received her education at the Pinecrest School. At the age of 14, she gave her heart to the Lord and was baptized by Ken Diller on March 14, 1976. She enjoyed sightseeing trips with her parents and enjoyed helping her dad on the Blosser place mowing trails with the old Ford tractor. In her teenage years, her giving spirit began expressing itself in helping those in need around her. She went to Bethel home to serve in March, 1981 where she made many good memories and lived with Joyce and Kris Redger. She returned home in January, 1983 and then married in April 1983 at the Pinecrest Church. They made their home in Browns AL, moving in 1986 to the home place in Georgia.  Judy enjoyed homemaking and raising the family on the dairy farm. Her passion was creating a safe spot in her home and yard that she loved. Birthdays and holidays were very important to her and she made every child and in-law feel special. She spent many hours playing and reading to her children and grandchildren—her 10 precious grandchildren will never forget their “Grammy”. In her quiet way, she touched many hearts, giving of herself without thought of anything in return. Judy endeavored to live her Christian life with all her heart. She struggled with doubts and fears but learned to trust God more and more. She had a special corner where she spent time alone with God, finding a special relationship with Him, as well as her husband, in the final months as she faced her worst fears. Her prayers became very meaningful and she found the rest and assurance during her final prayers in the hospital. After struggling with leg pain for weeks, the heart-breaking news was not one, but two diagnoses of cancer and Guillain Barre, with her conditional deteriorating much faster than expected. During a short but mighty fight, Judy had many precious moments with her family, inspiring them as she would sing through her pain. In the final days and hours, she kept her thoughts on her Savior and her special memories—watching the sunrise on St. Simons’ Island; camping in the Smokies; picnics at the cabin; planning her new kitchen; a trip to Africa; the summer trip to Colorado hiking in the mountains just weeks before her suffering started; and one very special weekend in the camper she dreamed of having.

Others left to cherish precious memories include her four children, Carlin and Gayle Schmidt of Arcadia FL, Melissa and Alex Becker of Louisville, Greg and Cheryl Schmidt of Louisville, and Cori and Grant Koehn of Center CO; ten grandchildren; two sisters, Sharon Hiebert of Aiken SC, and Barb and Bob Holdeman of Avera; two brothers, Gene and Venora Ensz of Center CO, and Gerald and Marilyn Ensz of Uniontown AL; and mother-in-law, Vada Schmidt of Macon MS. Judy is preceded in death by her parents, one sister and her father-in-law.
