Helen Coxville Williford

Gibson, GA –              Helen Irene Coxville Williford, 87, loving wife of 46 years to the late Otis Williford, entered into her eternal rest late morning, Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at her daughter’s residence in Dearing. Graveside services will be held in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery at 2:00 P.M. Monday afternoon, February 15, 2021 with Reverend John A. Jenkins officiating.

Because of the family’s respect and concern for public health and safety during this COVID-19 pandemic, the family requests that social distancing and other safety precautions be followed.  The wearing of face masks is strongly encouraged during this gathering.

T he only daughter of the late Frances Gregory Coxville and the late Joe Lee Coxville, Helen was born and raised in Gibson.  After graduating from Glascock County High School, she married and started her family. Being industrious and a hard-worker, Helen started working for Stapleton Garment, then went to Thomson Company, leaving there to work at Gibson Garment. Then in 1973 working as an assembly worker with Thermo King, retiring in 1990 in order to take care of her husband as his health failed. She was a great cook and loved to bake—it filled her heart to see people enjoy her food. Helen loved catching fish just as much as she enjoyed eating them!  If she wasn’t cooking or fishing, she was shopping—she loved going to Hamrick’s, Belk’s and a good dollar store. She found great enjoyment working in her flower garden--she loved her flowers. Her favorite vacation spot was anywhere in the Blue Ridge and Smokey mountains: being in the mountains soothed her soul. Helen accepted Jesus as her Savior as a young girl going to Bethel United Methodist Church. She also served Him attending meetings in Albany and, in later years, attending Reedy Creek Baptist Church. Having a great sense of humor, she liked to joke around and cut up—she loved to laugh and have a good time.  For the most part, she was happy and content and wanted others to be happy and joyful as well. She had a servant’s heart and was constantly trying to take care of others and their needs. Above all else, Helen loved her family unconditionally and fiercely. Her greatest pleasure was being surrounded by family and experiencing the love shared by each other. Her legacy will live on even though the void left by her passing will never be filled.

Helen was also preceded in death by her two sons, Randy Williford and Jan Williford; and brother, Bennett Coxville. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Joan W. Fulcher (Garry) and Tony Williford (Beth); nine grandchildren, Tonya Mole (Micah), Mindy Wilcher, Ethan Williford, Heather Covert, Hope Hadden (Ben), Christopher Williford (Brandy), Randy Williford Jr., Cody Williford and Dillon Williford; 15 great grandchildren; cousins, other extended family and friends.
