Floyd “Allen” Land

Wrens, GA  –              Floyd “Allen” Land, 56, loving husband of 31 years to Sandra Lynn Cowart Land, entered into his eternal rest Friday afternoon, May 8, 2020 at his residence. Graveside services, officiated by Pastor Benny Bush, will be held at 4:00 P.M. Tuesday afternoon, May 12, 2020 in the Wrens Memorial Cemetery.

Because of the current ordinances regarding COVID-19 and the family’s respect and concern for public health and safety, the family has chosen not to hold a celebration of life service. They ask that you acknowledge his passing with your thoughts and prayers for the family.

Born to Margaret Williams Land and the late Floyd Land, Allen grew up in Glascock County and graduated from Glascock County Consolidated School where he played basketball and baseball.  A truck driver, he was an owner/operator, driving for various companies until he became disabled and unable to drive any longer. A sports fanatic, Allen loved Braves baseball and was a die-hard Georgia “Dawgs” fan.  Every Saturday of college football season, Allen could be found in the backyard at his “Georgia Bulldog Building” getting ready to entertain his family and friends, watching his beloved Dawgs play. He always made sure no one went hungry and everyone had a great time. This is when he was the happiest. Even in the off season, he loved to show off his grilling skills and have everyone over—he loved people and having family and friends around him.  Allen also enjoyed being outside and cutting grass, not only his yard but neighbors, family and friends as well. Marrying the love of his life, they shared life’s “ups and downs”, it’s triumphs and tragedies together. A family man, he had an absolute love for his family. He was a proud father with his grandkids stealing his heart and giving him much joy. Allen attended Word of Flame Pentecostal Church where he loved to worship his Lord and Savior, and enjoying the sweet fellowship there. He has been described as being a funny, goofy jokester and smooth talker with a strong-willed, never-give-up attitude. Nothing can fill the void his passing has left; however, he will never be forgotten as his memories live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

Other survivors include his three children, Allen “Jordan” Land (Amanda), Shelby Rose Bush (Dallas) and Tanner Chase Land; sister, Ree Smallwood (Richard Bell); three grandchildren, River Land, Sawyer Bush and Havana Bush; brothers-in-law, Robert Cowart (Angie) and Ed Cowart; nieces and nephews, Joshua Cowart, Logan Cowart, Emily Cowart, Shae Bridges (Edward), Zack Smallwood (Madalyn) and Colby Johnson; aunt, Sara Wilkinson; extended family and many friends.

The family wishes to express their gratitude for the kindnesses evidenced in thought, deed and prayer.
