Don Lamar Lee Watts

Wrens, GA  –              Don Lamar Lee Watts, 26, loving husband of Magan Leigh Tapley Watts, entered into his eternal rest Tuesday afternoon, November 17, 2020 Medical Center/Navicent Health in Macon. Services to celebrate his life will be held in the James Funeral Home Chapel at 6:00 P.M. Wednesday evening, November 25, 2020 with Rev. Terry McLaughlin and Brother Harley Bowser officiating. The family will receive friends at James Funeral Home from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. prior to the services.

Because of the family’s respect and concern for public health and safety during this COVID-19 pandemic, the family requests that social distancing and other safety precautions be followed.  The wearing of face masks is strongly encouraged.

The only son of Norma Jean Prickett Watts and Don Lamar Watts, ‘Lil Don grew up on the Wrens/Matthews area and attended Jefferson County High School. He met the love of his life at age 12 at a Relay for Life event in Wrens, and at the age of 15, they started dating, and married just before his 18th birthday in 2012.  ‘Lil Don started out working at Hadden’s IGA, then ceramic tile work and plumbing work. But his favorite job/hobby was working on cars and small appliances—he could fix anything!  He loved fishing, especially with his family, and hunting.  His most memorable experiences included the birth of his son and the day he asked God to move in and being baptized with his family—his wife, mother and father—on September 30, 2012 at Berean Baptist Church, where he faithfully served his Savior.  His acceptance of Jesus, God’s free gift of life everlasting, changed his life.  Always considered a congenial, good, generous person and one to help others, but after his life-changing experience, his love for people grew in such a way that is indescribable.  Life was not suddenly easy but, through their trials, they put their faith in God and depended upon Him to sustain them and to give them the strength to endure. After being declared brain-dead from an accidental fall, the family knew that he would want to help others by having his organs harvested. As God would have it, his kidneys were matched to a man in his own church. In all things, ‘Lil Don wanted God to be glorified.  How wonderful it must have been for him to hear “Well done, thou good and faithful servant; enter into the joy of Thy Lord.”  He is now in his eternal home glorifying God and awaiting the arrival of his family.

‘Lil Don was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Eddie Lee Prickett; his paternal grandparents, Agnes Hayes Watts and Billy Watts Sr.; and uncle, Dean Prickett.  Other survivors include his son, Don Lee Watts; sister, Tiffany Watts; maternal grandmother, Agnes “Tootsie” Prickett; in-laws, Barbara and Bryan Tapley; nephews, nieces, numerous cousins, church family and friends.
