Vivian Louise Wren
Wrens, GA – Vivian Louise Wren, 86, loving daughter of the late Nora Crutchfield Wren and the late Cloyce Edward Wren, entered into her eternal rest early Friday morning, October 19, 2018 at Doctors Hospital in Augusta. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held in the James Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00 P.M. Monday afternoon, October 22, 2018 with Reverend Carson Fellows officiating. Interment will follow in the Wrens Memorial Cemetery.
Vivian was a lifelong resident of Wrens and a 1950 graduate of Wrens High School. After graduation, her aspirations were to become a nurse and worked as a nurse aide at Louisville Hospital. She found that her talents were in bookkeeping. Having had some experience in the grocery business, she worked for the Red and White and then Hadden’s IGA, retiring in 2001. As a young girl, Vivian accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior serving him faithfully at Wrens Baptist Church where she was a member of the Lucy Howard Sunday School Class. Having never married, Vivian was the main caregiver for her parents. Being musically inclined, she learned to play the piano. Music soothed her soul—she loved gospel music and attending local sings. Her flowers also brought her great joy and could often be found working in her flower garden. Vivian also loved eating out and shopping. A proper Southern lady, she was always “dressed” to entertain friends and guests. Her quiet, soft-spoken demeanor housed a kind, considerate, loving spirit. Even though she was a private person, she was a loyal, trusted friend. Family and friends were of utmost importance to her. Not having children of her own, she loved her nephew and nieces as if they were her own. As Vivian left to sojourn to her eternal home, her loving spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew her.
Vivian is survived by her two brothers, Cloyce “Bo” E. Wren, Jr. (Maxine) and George W. Wren (Janice); nephew, Michael E. Wren (Juanita); three nieces, Robin W. O’Neil (Patrick), Jan W. Bates (Robbie) and Sherri W. Canada (Craig); her church family and friends. Pallbearers will be her nephews—Andrew Canada, Brennan Canada, Craig Canada, Robbie Bates, Brian O’Neil, Pat O’Neil, Michael Sumpter, Jeremy Wren, Justin Wren, Lee Michael Wren and Michael Wren. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the Lucy Howard Sunday School Class.
The family will receive friends at James Funeral Home from 1:00-3:00 P.M., Monday afternoon, October 22, 2018, prior to the funeral services.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorials be made to Wrens Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 217, Wrens GA 30833.
