Ruby Frances Perdue Holley, a cherished member of the Wrens community and a beacon of kindness and faith, peacefully entered Glory Sunday afternoon, June 7, 2026, at her home. Born on April 15, 1940, Ruby’s life was marked by deep devotion to her family, church, and the many lives she touched along her journey.
A lifelong resident of Wrens, Ruby graduated from Wrens High School in 1958. Following her graduation, she briefly worked at Stapleton Garment Company before marrying her high school sweetheart. Together, they moved to Newport News, Virginia, where they began their family before returning to the Wrens area in 1963. Ruby worked as a secretary at Ft. Gordon and later joined her husband's finance company as a bookkeeper. Throughout her life, she remained a steadfast and devoted presence both professionally and personally.
Ruby accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was a lifelong member of Mt. Horeb Baptist Church in Wrens. Her commitment to her faith was evident through her heartfelt service as a children's Sunday School teacher, choir member, hostess committee participant, and later as Chairperson of the hostess committee. She also dedicated her time during Vacation Bible School, sharing her love and wisdom with the younger generation.
Known for her sweet, kind, happy, and gentle nature, Ruby carried a big heart that welcomed all. She delighted in meeting people and attending social events, always placing her family as her highest priority. Her home was a loving and safe haven for those she loved. Family gatherings and fellowship with both her relatives and church family were the joys that filled her heart. A proud grandmother, Ruby found immense happiness in taking her grandchildren to the movies and treating them to ice cream afterward, moments that brought her endless joy.
Ruby embraced life’s pleasures with enthusiasm, indulging in shopping trips, traveling—particularly enjoying cruises—gardening, and baking delicious candies, cookies, and cakes that were treasured by all who knew her.
She is lovingly survived by her children: Greg A. Holley (Alisa), Melinda Smith (Charles), and Mary Crunkelton; nine grandchildren: Rob Holley (Sarah), Abbey Meyer (Chris), Heather Farrow (Colton), Brittney Smith, Kristen Black (Jon), Charlotte Hand (Carson), Tripp Smith (Jennifer), Taylor Ware (Zach), and Kasey Crumbley (Jae); ten great-grandchildren: Emeri Holley, Eva Holley, Mills Meyer, Wynn Meyer, Maddux Black, Ellena Black, Bronson Ware, Weslynn Ware, Drew Ware, and Jett Crumbley; her siblings: W.J. Perdue, Lois P. James, Bonnie P. Holley, and Durham Perdue; along with numerous other extended family, church family, and friends who cherished her presence.
Ruby was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Robert Allen Holley; grandson, Andrew Crunkelton; son-in-law, Tony Crunkelton; parents, Ruth Windom Perdue and Otis Jackson Perdue; and sister, Thelma Winkle.
Her visitation will be held from 12:00-1:30PM Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at Mt. Horeb Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 1:30PM with the Reverends Shane Busby and Paul Moore officiating. She will then join her husband in the church cemetery. Honored to serve as pallbearers include Jon Black, Jae Crumbley, Colton Farrow, Carson Hand, Chris Meyer and Zach Ware.
The family strongly suggests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to her beloved church to further God’s kingdom—Mt. Horeb Baptist Church, earmarked for Building Fund, c/o Greg Holley, PO Box 563, Wrens, GA 30833.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff of Georgia Hospice Care with special gratitude to her personal care givers—Jeannette Thompson, Sara Kelly and Barbara Battie—for their love and compassionate care.
Ruby Frances Perdue Holley’s legacy is one of love, faith, and unwavering dedication to her family and community. Her memory will remain a guiding light, inspiring all who were blessed to know her. May she rest in eternal peace.
