Rachel Young Geisik

Wrens, GA  –              Rachel Amelia Gribble Young Geisik, 100, loving wife of the late Michael Geisik, entered into her eternal rest Wednesday afternoon, February 17, 2016 at her residence in Wrens.  Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday morning, February 24, 2016 in the Geisik family plot at First Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Rockaway, New Jersey with Reverend Carl Geisik officiating.

The third eldest of seven children born to the late Sarah Gribble Young and the late Clarence Young, Rachel was a lifelong resident of Rockaway until her health declined in 2001 at which time she moved in with her son who relocated to Wrens, GA in 2012.  Even at a young age, she always put family first and worked hard to care and provide for them. She retired with over 20 years of service as an Assembly worker at Aircraft Radio Corp., now Cessna.  Rachel submitted her life to Christ at the age of 16 and served Him as a member of First Presbyterian Church for 84 years. Living to the ripe age of 100, Rachel experienced many of life’s joys, as well as its tragedies.  Because of her unwavering faith, she relied on His strength and faced each day with joy and peace. Rachel is now at home in Glory, surrounded by family and praising Him.

Rachel is also preceded in death by her two sons, Michael Geisik Jr. and John Geisik; and her siblings, Overton Young, Edgar Young, Alan Young, Marian Blanchard and Sarah Young. Survivors include her son, Carl Geisik, and his wife, Patricia, of Wrens GA; her sister, Ruth Laude of Utah; seven grandchildren; and many great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Norman Dean Home for Services from 7:00-9:00 P.M. Tuesday evening, February 23, 2016.
