Lloyd Wayne Arrington

Wrens, GA –               Lloyd Wayne Arrington, 65, loving husband of 42 years to Melody Ann Arrington, died from injuries sustained in an accident near his home on Saturday, May 7, 2022.  Services to celebrate his life will be held outdoors at the family’s home at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, May 29, 2022.

Growing up in Augusta, Lloyd attended Butler High School. Before graduating, he joined the Navy, serving our country for four years before being medically discharged.  He then came home and worked at Deerfield for 15 years, during which time he met Melody and knew right away he’d marry her one day.  After Deerfield, he was a long-haul truck driver for 30 years.  During that time, his girls enjoyed summer trips in the truck with their dad traveling all over the US.  In 2019, he retired and became a full-time baby sitter for his grandchildren which he considered the best job in the world.  In his younger years, Lloyd enjoyed hunting.  As he got older, he enjoyed being at home watching and collecting movies, reading, and riding country roads with a good cigar. He enjoyed getting to know his neighbors and was willing to help anyone whenever he could.  Lloyd had an absolute, unconditional love for his family and especially loved celebrating Christmas with them.  The void left by their tragic loss cannot be filled but his memories will forever live on in their hearts.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, Verna Mae Arrington and Herman Jackson Arrington Sr.; and his sister, Denice Pennington.  Others left to cherish his memory include his three daughters, Nadine Davis (Brandon), Stefanie Arrington and Katelynn Pilgrim (“The” David); four grandchildren, Brandon “Boo” Davis Jr., Caleb Davis, David Luke Pilgrim and Allison Kate Pilgrim; two siblings, Brenda Uhl and Jack Arrington; nieces, nephews, cousins, other extended family and friends.

The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made directly to James Funeral Home, PO Box 588, Wrens GA 30833.
