Karen Ann Reed

Wrens, GA  – Karen Ann Maple Reed, 70, loving wife of 40 years to Roy E. Reed, went home to be with her Lord Saturday morning, July 13, 2013 from Georgia Health Sciences Medical Center.  Funeral services will be held at 3:30PM Wednesday afternoon, July 17, 2013 in the James Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Rountree officiating.  Interment will follow in Wrens Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00PM Saturday, July 20, 2013 at New Hope Freewill Baptist Church in Dover FL with Rev. Greg Fawbush officiating.

One of seven children born to the late Dorothy Brower Maple and the late Milford Maple in Ohio, Karen was a devoted woman of Christ and was the pianist at every church she attended. She was an amazing woman who had the patience of Job and who used all of her many talents and walks in life to further the kingdom of Christ—her singing voice, being a licensed minister, being a published author of 5 books, working in day care centers, and, most importantly, being a homemaker. With her husband, she co-owned and operated Boss’ RV Park and in her spare time, she enjoyed putting together puzzles. Karen was a giver, not a taker, and never asked for anything—she was a “people” person, always willing to help others in any way she could and putting others needs before her own—a true servant. Karen, whose outside beauty was only exceeded by her inside beauty, loved her family with all her heart; even though death has left a void that no one can heal, her love has left memories no one can steal.

Karen was also preceded in death by her four siblings, Carl Maple, Wanda Greathouse, Audrey Gillespie and Larry Maple. She is also survived by her three children, Brad A. Reed (Beverly), Todd A. Reed and Stacy Reed; two brothers, Paul Maple and David Maple; nine grandchildren, Jacob Batten, Canon Duffy, Caleb McLendon, Ashley Reed, Todd Reed Jr, Autumn Reed, Alan Reed, Ryan Reed and William Reed; and many nieces, nephews and friends.   Pallbearers will be Jeff Aliigood, Don Horst, Don Johnson, Jeff Maple, Jimmy McNair and Greg Stanley.
.
The family will receive friends at James Funeral Home Tuesday evening, July 16, 2013 from 6:00-8:00PM.
