Jeffery Gary Bazemore

August 24, 1969 — July 2, 2025

Wrens, GA

Jeffery Gary Bazemore, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend, passed away peacefully at his residence Wednesday night, July 2, 2025. Born on August 24, 1969, Jeffery was a lifelong resident of Wrens, Georgia, where he attended school in both Jefferson and Glascock counties.

Immediately after high school, Jeff began his career at Shaw Industries in Thomson. Over the course of 15 years, he dedicated himself to the company, ultimately rising to the position of Plant Manager. Following his time at Shaw Industries, he held similar leadership positions at various companies in the area. However, in recent years, his most fulfilling role was that of a stay-at-home dad, where he created lasting memories with his children, grandchildren, parents and friends.

In his leisure time, Jeff enjoyed fishing, hunting, and embracing the outdoors. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and was often recognized for his unique style, frequently seen sporting Costa visors paired with Crocs and mismatched socks.

Described as the life of the party, Jeff was known for his fun-loving spirit and laid-back demeanor. He cherished every moment with his family, creating special memories that each child and grandchild will hold dearly. Generous to a fault, he would go out of his way to help anyone in need, often putting others before himself. His love for his family was profound, as was his devotion to his parents, Iris Prescott Bazemore and Gary Lee Bazemore.

A member of Believers Baptist Church, Jeff loved his Lord and Savior. His strong faith was evident not only in worship but also in the way he lived his life, filled with kindness and compassion. Christmas was particularly special to him; he took great joy in decorating his home to reflect the spirit of the season, exemplifying generosity and love throughout the entire year. Jeff loved life and approached every day with anticipation, with his faith sustaining him throughout life’s trials. Because of his faith, he demonstrated great courage and peace in his hard-fought battle with cancer.

Along with his parents, he is also survived by his devoted wife, Sharon Renee Chambers Bazemore; his loving children, Dolly Schmidt (Cheyenne), Adam Bazemore (Danielle), Leland Bazemore (Courtney), Lexie Bazemore, Bailey McCorkle, Avery McCorkle and Logan McCorkle; his grandchildren, Jaxon Schmidt, Madison Schmidt, Jayden Bazemore, Livi Bazemore, Ryleigh Bazemore, and Liam Byrd; his brother, Daniel Bazemore (Misty); and other extended family, church family, and a multitude of friends.

A visitation will take place from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Monday, July 7, 2025, at James Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Believers Baptist Church with Pastor Stacey Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in the Wrens Memorial Gardens cemetery. Honored to serve as pallbearers include Adam Bazemore, Leland Bazemore, Cheyenne Schmidt, Gage Bazemore, Logan McCorkle and Steve Sadoti.

The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jeff’s honor be made to Believer’s Baptist Church with checks mailed to 2474 Hwy 17 N, Wrens GA 30833 earmarked “Jeff Bazemore Memorial” or using Venmo @wrensbelieversbaptist.
