George Edward Prickett

Wrens, GA  – George Edward “Cunny Man” Prickett, 70, loving husband of Cindia Tyler Prickett, entered into rest Thursday morning, October 23, 2014 at the University Heart and Vascular Center.  Funeral services will be held at 2:30PM Monday, October 27, 2014 in the James Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Christine Wallace and Rev. Roosevelt Birt officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery.

Born to the late Dovie Lou Amerson Prickett and the late George Franklin Prickett, George was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County.  He was a Baptist by faith but in his later years attended Praise Deliverance International. George was a farmer all of his life, a job he loved because it allowed him to be outdoors.  He also enjoyed hunting all types of game and fishing. A happy-go-lucky, jolly fellow, George got along with everybody and never met a stranger. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his wife and family, all of whom he loved very much. His smile and upbeat attitude will be missed by all who knew him.

George is also preceded in death by his two siblings, Dennis Franklin Prickett and Marion Prickett Wheeler. Other survivors include his children, Timothy Prickett and Sonia Louise Barnes (William); his step children, Rickey Eugene Hodge (Francine), Harlon Lee Hodge (Juanita) and Cindia Hodge; a sister, Patricia “Sweet” Bryant; 16 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  Pallbearers will be Bruce Benson, Metrius Fordham, Henry Thomas, Thomas Whigham, Quintavious Williamson and Ben Wilson.

The family will receive friends at James Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00PM Sunday evening, October 26, 2014.

The family respectfully requests memorial contributions to be made directly to James Funeral Home, PO Box 588, Wrens GA 30833.
