Elizabeth "Liz" Cooper Jenkins

Elizabeth Cooper Jenkins, affectionately called “Liz” was born October 31, 1962, and passed on August 23, 2026, at the age of 63. Born in Miami, Dade County, Florida, Elizabeth moved with her family to Wrens when she was five years old. She graduated from Wrens High School in 1980. In 1985, she married and began building her family, which remained at the heart of her life. She lived in Wrens for many years and later moved to Augusta in 2018 after the passing of her husband. At the time of her passing she resided in Warrenville, South Carolina.

After graduating, Liz began working at Ft. Gordon faithfully for 22 years until her retirement. She later served as manager of the Taco Bell in Wrens for three years. Those who knew her will remember her as very loving, always wearing a big, beautiful smile.

She found happiness in the things she loved most. Liz enjoyed spending time with her puzzle books and computer games. She loved to play cards and was said to be exceptional at playing spades, a memory that will surely bring smiles to those who shared a table with her. More than anything, her family was her number one priority, and she was most content when surrounded by her children, grandchildren, brothers and sisters, their families, and her husband’s family.

Liz is survived by her children, Riccardo Jenkins (Tamika), Germekia J. Wesley (Antione), Tomorris Jenkins, Brandon Jenkins and Chiquita Richardson; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Belinda Fullington, Keith L. Cooper, Edoris Thomas (James), Tangellia Moore (Charles), Lushunda Hurst (Isiah), and Cassandra Beasley. She also leaves to cherish her memory her step-father, William Beasley; her in-laws, Eddie Brinson and Barbara Jenkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Isaac Jenkins Sr.; her son, Willie “Cruze” Jenkins Jr.; her grandson, Charquan Stone; her mother, Luella Beasley; her father, John Cooper Sr.; and her brothers, John L. Cooper Jr. and Tony Cooper. Their memories remained a lasting part of her life and heart.

The family will receive friends from 4:00pm until 6:00pm Friday evening, August 28, 2026, at James Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Saturday morning, August 29, 2026, at James Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Walker officiating.

Honored to serve as pallbearers include Malcolm Brinson, Malik Brinson, Keith Brinson, Mario Thomas, Leotis Berry and Isiah Hurst. Interment will follow at Flat Rock Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Elizabeth Cooper Jenkins leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and quiet strength. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
