Elizabeth "Colleen" Clements Williams

Jul 26, 1958 — Jun 25, 2026

Louisville, GA

Elizabeth "Colleen" Clements Williams peacefully transitioned into her eternal home in Heaven early Thursday morning, June 25, 2026, at Doctors Hospital in Augusta. Born on July 26, 1958, Colleen's life was one defined by kindness, devoted relationships, and quiet strength. Her passing leaves a deep sense of loss among those who knew and loved her, and her memory will be cherished always.

1976 was a big year for Colleen. She graduated from Wrens High School in June, turned eighteen in July and married her high school sweetheart In August. They shared a life marked by mutual love, respect, and unwavering companionship. Together, they built a nurturing and supportive home for their family, and their partnership stands as a testament to Colleen’s generous spirit and steadfast loyalty. She was a loving and caring mother who provided guidance, encouragement, and unconditional love. The deep bonds she nurtured within her family endure as a living legacy of her warmth and compassion.

Colleen enjoyed her relationships with others…whether at work, church, or other social occasions. Her work career included time at the Radio Shack and Wrens Jewelers, before being a receptionist at First State Bank, working there from 1998 until 2012 when her health declined and she was unable to physically work any longer.

Colleen accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior, serving Him at Wrens ARP Church where she played the piano for Sunday School, as well as performed solos during the services and sang in the choir. She was known for her vast collection of angels. An avid reader, she enjoyed all genres but especially ones with adventure and mystery. In her later years, she enjoyed watching TV—game shows, westerns, the NCIS series, and ID TV.

Colleen's journey through life reflected the values she held dear: integrity, devotion, and faith. She faced all of life's seasons—its joys and challenges—with a quiet dignity and resilient optimism. Those who knew her will remember her gentle sense of humor, her empathy for others, and her ability to bring comfort in times of need.

Colleen valiantly fought MS since 1978, never complaining but always keeping a positive spirit. She was very thankful for her husband’s devotion, support and time spent taking care of her as her health failed. Her final days were spent surrounded by love, and her peaceful transition has brought comfort to all who cared for her, knowing she is at rest.

She leaves behind her devoted husband of 50 years, Bruce Williams; son, Scott Williams (Joel); aunts, Grace Williams and Emmie Foster (Mike); uncles, Frank Chance (Beth), Ed Chance (Jane), and Billy Williams (Darla); as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Shirley Chance Clements and William “Clem” Franklin Clements; aunt, Katherine Dye; and uncle, Don Williams.

Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Colleen are invited to celebrate her life. Visitation will be held from 12:00 – 2:00PM, Sunday, June 28, 2026, at James Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2:00PM in the James Funeral Home Chapel, with the Reverends Ron Dixon and Ed Chance officiating. Interment will follow in the Wrens Memorial Cemetery. Honored to serve as pallbearers include Mike Chance, Timmy Chance, Hank Johnson, Greg New, Artie Thrift and Miller Weeks.

The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Wrens Christian Fellowship Church, 202 Russell Street, Wrens GA 30833.

Though she has departed from this world, Elizabeth "Colleen" Clements Williams will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her family and all who knew her. Her legacy of love and goodness will remain a guiding light for generations to come.
