Doris Jean Williams Lyvers
Jackson, SC - Doris Jean Williams Lyvers, 59, entered into her eternal rest early Tuesday morning, August 28, 2018 at her residence. Services to celebrate her life will be held in the James Funeral Home Chapel at 4:00 P.M. Sunday afternoon, September 2, 2018.
Doris was born and raised in Louisville, and a 1976 graduate of Louisville High School. After high school, she lived throughout Georgia and overseas in Germany. She moved back to Georgia and eventually settled in North Carolina, where she raised her children and spoiled her grandchildren. Two years ago, she relocated to her childhood origins around Augusta. Her main love was cooking and baking—she was especially known for her cakes. Doris had an artistic nature—painting on canvas, ceramics, and crafts. Using her talents, she made her home a comfortable, safe haven for her family. Music soothed her soul. She listened to all types of music—rap, soul, southern rock, country, gospel. Doris loved to make people laugh with her jokes—she wanted everyone to be happy. She had a cheerful, friendly attitude and was always putting others and their needs ahead of her own. Doris was a “giver” in life and was quick to forgive others for any slight against her. She had a great, absolute love for her children and grandchildren who brought much joy to her heart. Her loving, generous spirit will be forever remembered by her family and friends.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents, Betty Jean Chalker and Buford Edwin Williams Sr.. Survivors include her three children, Johnathan DeWayne Brown (Tracey) of Jacksonville FL, Shawn E. Lyvers (Autumn) of Clyde NC, and Tiffani L. Ellis (Michael) of Hayesville NC; six siblings, Buford Williams Jr., Danny Williams, Sammy Williams, Audrey Sheppard, John Henry Williams and Robert Williams; six grandchildren, Justin Brown, Jacob Brown, Aiden Lyvers, Addison Lyvers, Wednesday Johnson and Axl Ellis; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Private family viewing will be at James Funeral Home from 2:00 – 3:00 P.M., with public visitation for friends from 3:00 – 4:00 P.M. before the services at 4:00 P.M. Sunday afternoon, September 2, 2018.
