Dale M. Giles

Blythe, GA  – Dale Maude Chriswell Giles, 56, loving companion of 35 yrs to the late Larry L. Norton Sr, entered into rest Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at her residence. Funeral services will be at 1:00PM Saturday, April 20, 2013 in the James Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jerry B. Redmond officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Augusta.

Dale was one of five children born to the late Roberta Ann Phillips and Spencer Chriswell. She was a great cook and was known for her spaghetti, fried chicken, mac ‘n cheese and dumplings. Loving to socialize, she would have her family and friends over so that she could cook for them. Her favorite pastimes were shopping at Wal-Mart and watching the ID channel. Dale never met a stranger and was a people-person who was always willing to help anybody in need. She was a great mom and sister—a protector of those she loved.  Dale will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Dale was also preceded in death by her son, Dwayne Giles, and grandson, Chase Patterson. Survivors include her children, James “Shane” Chriswell (Marsha), Larry L. Norton Jr (Tonya) and Adrianna Norton; her siblings, Kandy Swygart (Larry), Shirley Ann Gaddy, Guy Terry Huffman (Sheila) and Tonya Gordon (Buddy); and eight grandchildren, Austin Chriswell, Maggie Chriswell, Coleman Giles, Cailey Phillips, Cara Corbett, Shyann Norton, Trey Norton and Xavier Lariscy. Pallbearers will be Justin Blevins, Rodney Chaney, Kollin Galloway, Danny James, Gene Kelley, and Kevin Scheid.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to James Funeral Home, PO Box 588, Wrens GA 30833.

Legacy of Love

A wife, a mother, a grandma too,
This is the legacy we have from you.

You taught us love and how to fight,
You gave us strength, you gave us might.

A stronger person would be hard to find,
And in your heart, you were always kind.

You fought for us all in one way or another,
Not just as a wife, not just as a mother.

For all of us you gave your best,
Now the time has come for you to rest.

So go in peace, you’ve earned your sleep,
Your love in our hearts, we’ll eternally keep.
