Wrens, GA  – Brian Keith Dowdy, 56, loving husband of 32 yrs to Jennifer Jones Dowdy,  entered into rest Saturday night, February 23, 2013 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 in the James Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John A. Jenkins and Dr. James M. Ford officiating. Interment will follow in Wrens Memorial Gardens.

After 33 yrs of service at Hubert, Keith retired and then immediately began working for Kamin until the time of his decline in health. He always loved racing—stockcar and NASCAR—and was a big #24 Jeff Gordon fan.  His favorite place to be was the beach—he loved the ocean and the waves. Keith was a selfless, thoughtful, giving man who never met a stranger and was there to lend a helping hand. Keith always wanted everyone around him to be happy. He loved his cats and dogs and cherished each moment with his family, children and grandchildren.

Keith is preceded in death by his father, Billie Marvin Dowdy; and his grandparents, Albert and Elizabeth Miller. Other survivors include his children, Brian Dowdy (Ashley), Nicholas Dowdy (Mindy), Casey D. Reid (Jess) and Meagan Dowdy; his mother, Betty Jane Thompson Dowdy; a brother, Bruce Dowdy (Janice); and 8 grandchildren, Haley Dowdy, Lexi Dowdy, Luke Dowdy, Abby Dowdy, Austin Dowdy, Kaylee Reid, Rhett Reid and Joss Reid. Pallbearers will be Jerome Alexander, Raley Clements, Vance Clements, Tommy Hawkins, Tommy Holley and Dwight Prescott.
