Brad Dewayne Johnson

Statesboro, GA  –       Brad Dewayne Johnson, 29,  entered into his eternal rest Monday afternoon, July 22, 2019, at Savannah Memorial after suffering an aneurism. Services to celebrate his life will be held in the Mitchell Full Gospel Church at 3:00 P.M. Saturday afternoon, July 27, 2019, with the Reverends Floyd Williams and Bryan Sparks officiating. Interment will follow in the Mitchell United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Brad was born and raised in Mitchell until the age of 16 when his family moved to Statesboro, where he attended Brooklet High School. Marrying in 2009, he and his family alternated residences between Gibson and Statesboro. Brad worked for R & R Seed in Gibson before working as a butcher at Hunter Cattle Company.  He  LOVED fishing but also enjoyed hunting and just being outdoors. A “country boy”, he always listened to country music. Being outgoing and very sociable, Brad was the life of the party and wanted everybody to be happy, to laugh and to enjoy life. A big man with a big heart, he always made lemonade out of the lemons in life and kept a positive attitude.  His most prized treasure was his family, especially his two boys, who he loved unconditionally.  Spending time with his boys filled his heart with joy. Brad made the most important decision of his life a week prior to his death when he accepted Jesus and his Lord and Savior. We can now rejoice that he is in his Heavenly home. Gone, but never forgotten, Brad will be forever in our hearts.

Brad was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Wayne Johnson; his paternal grandparents, Inez and A. L. Johnson; and maternal grandparents, Carolyn and Samuel Harrell. Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Hope Albea Johnson; two sons, Brad “Dewayne” Johnson Jr. and Brandon “Dylan” Johnson; mother and step-father, Sandy Harrell Johnson Williams and Floyd Williams; brother, Kevin Wayne Johnson; and many friends

Serving as pallbearers will be Jimmy Broadnax, Chris Harrell, Kevin Johnson, Kenneth Sparks, Shawn Sparks, April Williams, Curtis Williams, and Jimmy Williams.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M. at Mitchell Full Gospel Church prior to the services Saturday afternoon, July 27, 2019.

Because of the unexpected nature of their loss, the family respectfully request that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made directly to James Funeral Home, P.O. Box 588, Wrens GA 30833.
