Bobbie Jean Phillips Welch Hutto,76, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, peacefully entered into her eternity Tuesday evening, June 10, 2025, at her residence in Wrens.
Born on March 19, 1949, in Wrens, Bobbie spent her formative years in her hometown, where she attended school until she decided to embark on the journey of marriage and motherhood.
A devoted homemaker, Bobbie was known for her meticulous housekeeping and unwavering support of her husband's endeavors, particularly Charles' work in carpet installation. Her strong-willed and independent personality made her a force to be reckoned with, and she was always unafraid to voice her opinions. Bobbie was a true people-person, nurturing meaningful relationships with those around her.
Her faith played a vital role in her life; she accepted the Lord as her Savior at a young age and was a member of Mt. Horeb Baptist Church. Family was at the forefront of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. Bobbie also had a special affection for her little fur baby, “Little Bit,” who brought her much joy.
Bobbie's interests spanned from shopping—a passion she enjoyed until her health began to decline—to gardening, where her green thumb allowed her to cultivate beautiful flowers. She took pride in her ability to make anything grow, often spending time outdoors tending to her garden. Additionally, she appreciated collecting and displaying "what nots," adding character to her home and creating a warm environment for family gatherings.
In 1981, Bobbie faced the tragic loss of her first husband, Harvey. However, she found love again and married Charles in 1984. In 1995, they moved to Charleston, South Carolina, to seize new job opportunities, but returned to Wrens in 2013 to be closer to her mother during her declining health.
Bobbie is survived by her three sons, Harvey Welch (Julie), Kirby Welch (Brenda), and Joey Welch; her sister, Louise Messer (Fred); six grandchildren, Josh Welch (Rebecca), Crystal Welch, Jeremy Bennett (Cassidy), Samantha Jones (Timothy), Brandon Welch, and Bri Welch; as well as eleven great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.
She joins her deceased family, including both husbands, Harvey Welch and Charles "Bobby" Allen Hutto; her parents, Nellie Phillips Reeves and Joseph Hadden; and her brother, Tony Hadden, resting now in peace and eternal love.
A visitation will be held at James Funeral Home from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Friday evening, June 13, 2025. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Wrens Memorial Gardens with Rev. Josh Mosley officiating.
Bobbie Jean Phillips Hutto will be remembered for her loving spirit, commitment to family, and the lasting impact she made on those who had the privilege of knowing her.
