Roxie Jeannine Harden

Avera, GA  –               Roxie “Jeannine” Harden, 88, entered into her eternal rest Wednesday morning, February 13, 2019 at Silver Linings Personal Care Home. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday afternoon, February 16, 2019, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Reverend John Beck officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Born to the late Myrtice Dixon Harden and the late Charlie H. Harden, Jeannine grew up as an only child since her brother had died as an infant. A lifelong resident of Avera, she graduated from Avera High School and was a seasonal worker for Kent’s Cannery in Gibson and Atwell Pecan in Wrens. As a young girl, she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior and actively served him at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where she was a member of the Gleaners Sunday School Class and where she also taught children’s Sunday School.  Never having been married, Jeannine lived in the house in which she was born for 79 years until her health declined.  She then made Silver Linings Personal Care Home in Stapleton her new “home” where she made many friends and considered them her family. Jeannine loved to work with her hands and could often be found knitting and hooking rugs. She also loved to read and enjoyed coloring, playing games, such as Scrabble, and putting puzzles together. Jeannine loved her furry buddies, especially her cats. Having a loving spirit, she was very kind, sweet and caring.  No matter her lot in life, she never complained and was always thankful for her blessings. Jeannine enjoyed a simple life and exhibited the love of Christ to everyone she met.

Those left to cherish her memories are her cousins; special friends, Bobbie and Lindy Williams; church family; Silver Linings family; her community; and many friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Anthony Clark, Gary Kitchens, Lonnie Ledger, Warren Mathis, Randy Rhodes and Tommy Sheppard.

Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the services.

Heartfelt thanks are extended to the staff at Silver Linings Personal Care Home for their professional, compassionate, and loving care extended to Jeannine.

Psalms 23

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness,
for His name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the
shadow of death, I will fear no evil:
for thou art with me;
Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence
of mine enemies; thou annointest my head with oil;
My cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the
days of my life: and I will dwell in the house
Of the Lord forever.
