Linda Sue Bragg Miller

Gibson, GA  –             Linda Sue Bragg Miller, 52, entered into her eternal rest Thursday evening, April 6, 2017 at her residence.  A Celebration of Life service will be held in the James Funeral Home Chapel at 6:00 PM Friday evening, April 14, 2017, with Rev. Tommy Anderson officiating.

The eldest of five girls born to the late Faye Stewart Bragg Newsome, Linda was a native of Wrens, where she attended Wrens High School and worked locally for Huddle House and Peggy’s. She enjoyed reading her Bible, watching her favorite TV show “Reba”, and traveling.  She especially loved being at the beach, where she found relaxation and peace and was most content. She had a passionate love of music which she always found therapeutic.  She was also an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and had a vast collection of Bulldog memorabilia.  A dog lover, her latest canine “baby”, Bella, provided her great pleasure and comfort.  Linda did enjoy her friends and family, but needed her “alone” time.  Her petite frame housed a fierce, high-spirited determination and strong-will and she was often out-spoken with her opinions.  Linda suffered tremendous emotional and physical battles in the last ten years starting with the loss of her precious son and son-in-law, Michael Clark, in an automobile accident in 2007 and ending with losing her hard-fought battle with cancer.  We take comfort in the fact that her suffering has ended and that she is now at peace.

Linda was also preceded in death by her son, D. J. Miller, her father, William Bragg, step-father, Robert “Red” Newsome, and step-sister, Connie Davis.  Survivors include her spouse, Dennis R. Miller; her children, Amanda Clark, Jessica Rowland and Steven Miller; siblings, Robyn Newsome, Sharon Baxter (Tim), Brenda Ryals, Beth Newsome, Tina Bragg-LaBere (Dave), Williams Bragg Jr., Jonathan Bragg, Robert West, Lester West, Carol Fick and Kenneth Hales; eight grandchildren (with another on the way), Mikayla Clark, Shaun Clark, Allyanna Clark, Jenna Dixon-Rowland, Jaelynn Dixon-Rowland, Johannah Dixon-Rowland, Mollie Miller and Ivie Miller; her long-time companion, Paul Dietzel; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends at James Funeral Home prior to the service from 5:00-6:00 PM Friday evening, April 14, 2017.

The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made directly to James Funeral Home, P.O. Box 588, Wrens GA  30833.

I’m Free

Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free.
I’m following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard Him call;
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way;
I found that place at the close of the day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss—
Ah, yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow;
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I savored much—
Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch.
Perhaps my time seems all too brief;
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free.
