James Michael Boggess
Wrens, GA – James "Jimmy" Michael Boggess, 58, loving companion of Theresa D. Delk, entered into his eternal rest Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at Jefferson Hospital after a battle with lung cancer. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held in the James Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday afternoon, June 11, 2019, with Rev. Sean Heggood officiating. Interment will follow in the Wrens Memorial Cemetery.
Jimmy was born and raised in Charleston WV where he attended high school. After getting married, he moved to Augusta for job opportunities in 1980 and has lived in this area ever since. He worked as an electrician and, since September 2016, was employed as a Refrigeration Tech at Coastal Processing in Louisville. Jimmy was mechanically inclined and loved working on vehicles and small engines in his spare time. He also loved to fish—he found much contentment and peace when on his boat casting a line. Being quiet and reserved, Jimmy had a laid-back nature with a great sense of humor. He was known to be a loyal friend to those he opened up to. Having an absolute, unconditional love for his family, he showed his love by working hard to provide for them and protecting them at all cost. Rest in peace, Jimmy.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Ethel Sheets Boggess and Dempsey David Boggess; and a brother, David Boggess. Other survivors include his children, Crystal L. Boggess, Jimmy Boggess Jr. (Jennifer), Ashley Shipley and Jennifer Shipley; two siblings, Tina Sheets and Coye Sheets; and grandchildren, Destiny Donalson, Courtney Donalson, Taylor Cromer, Braelyn Shipley, Kenneth Standridge Jr., Devonte Shipley, and MaKenzie Schipley. Serving as pallbearers will be Preston Calhoun, Heath Hancock, Julian Kitchens, Tristan Love, Bill Perry and Brian Simmons.
The family will receive friends at James Funeral Home from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. prior to the services Tuesday afternoon, June 11, 2019.
I’ve Gone Fishin’
I've finished life's chores assigned to me,
So put me on a boat headed out to sea.
Please send along my fishing pole
For I've been invited to the fishin' hole.
Where every day is a day to fish,
To fill your heart with every wish.
Don't worry, or feel sad for me,
I'm fishin' with the Master of the sea.
We will miss each other for awhile,
But you will come and bring your smile.
That won't be long you will see,
Till we're together you and me.
To all of those that think of me,
Be happy as I go out to sea.
If others wonder why I'm missin'
Just tell 'em I've gone fishin'.
