Mary Pennington Huff

Wrens, GA  –              Mary Pennington Huff, 89, loving wife of the late Ray Wilson Huff, entered into her eternal rest  late Friday night, May 6, 2016 at Jefferson Hospital in Louisville.  Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday afternoon, May 10, 2016 at Wrens Baptist Church with Reverend Carson Fellows officiating. Interment will follow in Wrens Memorial Gardens.

Born to the late Mollie Clark Pennington and the late Charles Pennington, Mary was a lifelong resident of Wrens, living in the same house for 80 years. She graduated from Wrens High School and was married to the love of her life in 1949. A loving, devoted wife and mother, Mary was a homemaker whose goal was to provide a safe sanctuary for her family. She served her Lord and Savior as a member Wrens Baptist Church, Fidelis Sunday School Class, and WMU.  She loved her church and even after her health declined and she could no longer attend, she still Biblically supported the church. Mary enjoyed her flowers, bird feeders, watching the hummingbirds and feeding the neighborhood rabbit. She loved genealogy—when talking with people, she always wanted to know who you were kin to and where you were born.  Having a strong-will, self-reliant, independent nature, she was a dedicated, dependable friend and kept a "can-do" positive outlook. Above all, Mary was proud of her family whom she loved unconditionally. Being reunited with her husband, her eternity has begun and is now praising God in Glory.

Mary is also preceded in death by all of her half siblings: Alice Evans, Aquilla Pennington, Ada Gay, Mary Ricker, Marvin Pennington, Recy Pennington, Tessie Gay, Freddie Pennington, Earnest Pennington, Truman Pennington, Verna Harwell, Norris Pennington and Hulon Pennington. Her survivors include a son, Charles W. Huff (Carol) of Dallas GA; two granddaughters, Lori Smith (Scott) and Cathy Magwood (Danny); four great grandchildren, Jeremy Smith, Katelyn Magwood, Riley Magwood and Brayden Magwood; many nieces, nephews and friends.  Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Hildebrand, Scott Huff, Russ McDonald, Charles Milburn, Allen Veal and Brian Whitaker.

The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Wrens Baptist Church, P.O. Box 217, Wrens  GA 30833.

The family will receive friends at James Funeral Home from 1:00-2:45 P.M. Tuesday afternoon, May 10 ,2016, prior to the funeral services.
