James Tres Pack

Blythe, GA  –             James Tres Pack, 40, loving husband of Tara Watkins Pack, entered into his eternal rest Monday morning, March 28, 2016 at his residence.  A Celebration of Life service will be held at 5:00 P.M. Thursday evening, March 31, 2016 at Oasis Church at Hephzibah with Bishop Wesley Weatherford officiating.

The son of the late Kelly Britt Pack Graves (Jack) and James L. Pack (Teresa), Tres was born and raised in Augusta where he attended and played football and baseball at Butler High School.  He worked as a pipe fitter for Parsons Construction at SRS and was a member of Union Local 150. Tres absolutely loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter—deer, turkey, duck, squirrel, raccoon, coyote; anything that could be hunted!  He also loved softball (#12), both league and tournament—playing, coaching or just watching was his joy.  He considered Diamond Lakes his second home and his teammates and other softball enthusiasts as his extended family. Tres was a big man with a big heart who lived life large and to the fullest—his passion for life was infectious.  He loved everyone and was known as “Uncle Tres” to every child he met.  Most of all, he loved his family and being with his wife and sons. A strong, generous, loyal, loving man who brought out the best in all around him, Tres’ memories will be treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Tres is also preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Barbara Britt, and paternal grandfather, James Pack.  Other survivors include his sons, Treyton Pack and Dylan Pack; five siblings, Sunny Graves Motes (Stephen), Ben Brown, Davi McGowan, Regina Woods (Dree) and Shannon Petty; mother and father-in-law, Wanda and Larry Watkins; two brothers-in-law, Gene Watkins (Katie) and Johnathan Watkins (Heather); a special cousin,  Kassye Boren, without whom Tres would not have been able to enjoy his last year of life; maternal grandfather, James Britt; paternal grandmother, Dot Pack; two nieces, Madison Motes and Taylor Salter; four nephews, Jackson Motes, Aaron McGowan, Bryntson Watkins and Carter Watkins; and aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends.

The family will receive friends at 4:00 P.M. prior to the services on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Oasis Church at Hephzibah.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made at online at gofundme.com; Georgia Kidney Foundation; or American Heart Association.
