Barbara Sellers McDonald

Wrens, GA  –              Barbara Alice Sellers McDonald, 70, loving wife of Johnny S. McDonald, entered into her eternal rest Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at her residence. Funeral services will be held in the James Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 P.M. Saturday afternoon, January 6, 2018, with Rev. Wayne Turpin officiating. Interment will follow in the Ways Baptist Church Cemetery.

Barbara was born and grew up in Wrens, but after she married a man in the construction business, she and her family moved a lot, living the longest in Ellijay and Kennesaw.  After her divorce, she moved back home where she met and married Johnny in 2000. She had a strong, feisty personality with a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. Barbara loved being a homemaker and especially enjoyed cooking for her family and decorating their home to make it a comfortable safe haven. Barbara had an unconditional love for her family, and was most content in their presence. Her loving spirit will be greatly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Mildred Newsome Sellers and Ulys Sellers of Thomson; and two brothers, Wallace Sellers and Tommy Sellers of Thomson. Other survivors include her four daughters, Beverly Pike of Ellijay, Cindy Wilborn of Milledgeville, Tracy King of Dawsonville and Kimberly Loyd of Dawsonville; two siblings, James J. Sellers of Thomson, and Marjorie L. To Those Whom I Love

When I am gone, release me--let me go.
I have so many things to see and do.
You must not tie yourself to me with tears:
Be happy that I have had so many years.
I gave you my love, you can only guess
How much you gave me in happiness.
I thank you for the love each have shown
But now it is time I traveled on alone.
So grieve a while for me, if grieve you must,
Then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It is only for a while that we must part
So cherish the memories in your heart.
I will not be far away, for life goes on.
So if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you cannot see or touch me, I will be near.
And if you listen with your heart, you will hear
All of my love around you soft and clear.
Then, when you must come this way alone,
I will greet you with a smile and a "Welcome Home".
